French Onion Dip
Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users
If there’s one thing that instantly upgrades any snack spread, it’s a creamy, savory onion dip. This version keeps all the flavor of the classic French onion dip but gives it a lighter, protein-packed twist by swapping in cottage cheese. The result? Silky, tangy, and packed with caramelized onion goodness—perfect for pairing with the bold crunch of French Onion Vandy Crisps. It’s the kind of dip that disappears fast at parties, but also works just as well as a quick weeknight snack.

Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons avocado oil
-
2 cups chopped sweet onions
-
1 cup cottage cheese
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
¼ teaspoon ground pepper
-
Vandy Crisps French Onion, for dipping
-
Optional garnish: chopped chives or scallions
Directions
Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 3 minutes until they begin to soften. Lower the heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn golden brown and sweet, about 20 minutes.
While the onions cook, add the cottage cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, balsamic vinegar, onion powder, and ground pepper to a food processor. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy.
Transfer the cottage cheese mixture to a bowl. Stir in the caramelized onions until fully incorporated.
Sprinkle with chives or scallions and serve with plenty of Vandy Crisps French Onion for dipping.
